PV 0.9.2
A few days ago version 0.9.2 of PV
was released. This incorporated a patch from Daniel Roethlisberger which
fixes the -c (cursor positioning) mode on BSD clones - Unix
variants on which file locking the display terminal fails.
Eventually it would be nice to remove locking entirely and use IPC
semaphores to manage the display locking for multiple instances, but since I
never personally use -c, it may be on the back burner for a
while.
This past week marks an unprecedented level of end-user interaction; not only did I receive a patch file, a very rare occurrence, but someone else took the time to write a quick thankyou note. Other than the QSF mailing list I don't think I've ever had two mails in one week from different people regarding any of my OSS releases.
The cricket robot is still making his presence felt. He'll leave soon, thank goodness.
